Highland Games: Various Dates
Arguably one of the highlights for this time of year in Scotland is the Highland Games. These are used to celebrate Celtic culture, particularly that of the Scottish Highlands. The Games aren’t just about the heavy events such as the caber toss but is also centred around pipers, Highland dancing, competitions around pipes and drums as well as other activities like tug-of-war and mini races which the public can take part in. Some Highland Games even offer those attending the chance to try their hand at more traditional activities like archery and of course there are plenty of food stalls to choose from.
