This is the ultimate tour for food lovers who are looking to enjoy fine dining throughout Scotland.
Day One
You will arrive at Edinburgh International Airport where you will be greeted by your Lang Atholl Experience Guide. Your guide will be on hand to assist with your luggage and lead you through the airport to your executive vehicle which will transport you throughout your stay in Scotland.
You will have the chance to explore the Old Town of Edinburgh from a culinary perspective and sample some of Edinburgh’s most delicious dishes while also gaining a more in depth understanding of the cuisine and history of this renowned capital city.
Your accommodation for the evening will be The Balmoral. Enjoy dinner in their Michelin-starred Number One restaurant, unwind in their award-winning spa and enjoy views of Edinburgh Castle.
Day Two
You will meet your blue badge guide within the hotel lobby. Your guide will be your friendly face, personally hand selected by us. They will be on hand to take you on an exploration through Edinburgh’s Historic Old Town from Holyrood Palace, climbing the Royal Mile while visiting sites such as St Giles Cathedral and Edinburgh Castle.
You will also have the chance to explore some of Edinburgh’s New Town. Despite its name this area dates back to 1767 and became an Unesco World Heritage site in 1995. You have the opportunity to enjoy the Georgian Architecture, the upmarket shopping on George Street while also seeing sights such as The Scott Monument.
In the evening, you will dine at The Lookout by Gardener’s Cottage. This stunning restaurant offers exquisite dishes partnered with floor-to-ceiling windows and city views. Following your meal with these city views, you will return to The Balmoral for your final evening in the capital.
Day Three
You will weave around Loch Lomond and take in the breath taking views and crystal clear water. This is the perfect opportunity for a photo stop.
Your next stop will be Inveraray Castle. Inveraray Castle is the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of the Clan Campbell and the iconic, must-see visitor attraction on the West Coast of Scotland.
You will spend the evening dining at Lochleven Seafood Café. This seafood restaurant has an exquisite menu including Scottish lobster and scallops along with gorgeous loch views. Following your meal, you will arrive at your accommodation for the night which will be Glencoe House. Set on 10 acres of gardens in the Scottish Highlands, this hotel in a 19th-century Victorian mansion with mountain and loch views. Located in Glencoe it is a great location for those who love outdoors and gives guest a perfect base to go and explore or they can unwind and relax.
Day Four
You will travel through Fort William on your way to your next culinary destination. A traditional Scottish town which lies under the countries tallest mountain, Ben Nevis. Explore this beautiful town and take in the stunning views of Ben Nevis.
Your castle of the day will be Dunvegan Castle. This beautiful castle has been the seat of Clan Macleod since the 13th century. To this day the clan chief still resides within the castle with his family. The castle is surrounded by several acres of attractive gardens painstakingly managed by the estate’s groundsman. An interesting artefact remains within the castle; the shabby remains of the Fairy Flag.
Your Michelin restaurant for the evening will be The Three Chimneys, which is also where you will be residing during your stay on the Isle of Skye. This is a world-renowned Scottish restaurant paired with five-star accommodation to allow you to enjoy the full package of luxury.
Day Five
From the Fairy Pools you will continue onto the town of Portree, The Capital of Skye. You will enjoy some time within thisRoyal harbour town with many options of lunch on the harbour with beautiful views and fresh seafood. From Portree you will have the opportunity to travel north once more to take a leisurely hike to the “Old Man of Storr” a natural stack occurring at the base of the Cuillin Mountains.
Your dining experience for this evening will be Loch Bay Restaurant. This is an intimate 18-seater seafood restaurant celebrating Skye seafood. You will then return to your accommodation for the evening to enjoy your final evening on the Isle of Skye.
Day Six
Your first stop of the day will be Eilean Donan Castle. Located on the Eilean (island) of Donan, overlooking the Isle of Skye, at the point of confluence of three great sea-lochs (, and surrounded by the majestic splendour of the forested mountains of Kintail. This 12th century castle holds a deep, rich history along with a setting that is truly breath-taking.
You will have the chance to explore Inverness before arriving at your accommodation for the night, Ness Walk, an idyllic 5-star retreat hotel in Inverness, just 10 minutes from Loch Ness. Surrounded by a dramatic canopy of impressive trees, our grand building allows you to experience a secluded atmosphere in the heart of the vibrant city centre. Your dining experience of the evening will be the Rocpool, renowned for their modern Scottish gourmet cuisines.
Day Seven
Visiting Dalwhinnie Distillery, you will enjoy their Expressions Tour and Masterclass Experience in which they will pair six of their Single Malts with chocolates from the Highland chocolatier.
Your evening meal will be enjoyed at the Sandemans Fine Dining Restaurant. This stunning restaurant only boasts nine tables allowing guests to have a unique and intimate experience while enjoying their familiar classics with a twist.
Your accommodation for this evening will be the luxury 5 star Fonab Castle Hotel situated in Pitlochry. The hotel is nestled in the heart of Highland Perthshire and is a truly unique five star hotel. Lovingly restored, it draws inspiration from its historic past and breath-taking surroundings whilst adding the odd contemporary twist. It really is beyond the ordinary.
Day Eight
Today sees you visit Scone Palace. Scone breathes history like nowhere else in Scotland. It is the family home of the Earls of Mansfield and the ancient crowning place of Scottish kings on the stone of Scone. You will wander down the Long Galley where King Charles II strode to his coronation in 1661. Make sure to visit the perfectly manicured gardens and take in the spectacular scenery.
You will enjoy a Michelin lunch at The Glenturret Distillery in their Lalique bar which boasts a bar lunch menu and an outstanding selection of malt whiskies.
The Dormy will provide you with your fine dining meal for the evening which allows guests to enjoy a laid back environment with top quality meals and stunning views over the Kings and Queens Courses. Day Nine
You have the opportunity to customise your activity based on the options provided by Gleneagles themselves which include options such as golf, falconry, or just enjoying their spa and wellness facilities.
Your final meal of your trip will be at the famous Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, the only restaurant in Scotland to hold two Michelin stars.
Day Ten
Your Lang Atholl representative will meet you for the final time in the lobby of your hotel and transport you to Edinburgh International Airport in leisurely time for departure.
