The International Whisky Competitions results are in – and Scotland has not disappointed.
With Scotland being the home of whisky, it comes as no surprise that Scottish distilleries were highly successful. Aberlour Distillery was crowned Master Distiller of the Year and won the Golden Barrel Trophy as well as producing the Whisky of the Year. Meanwhile, Ardbeg Distillery was named Distillery of the Year.
Scotland’s distilleries produced 10 of the Top 15 Whiskies in the world in 2022 with these whiskies being produced by Aberlour, Ardbeg, Glenmorangie, and Dewar’s. This selection covers the Highlands, the Speyside and the Isle of Islay highlighting the vast production of whisky within Scotland as well as the quality.
Here at Lang Atholl Experience, we have multiple whisky tours which cover Scotland and Ireland and allow whisky lovers the opportunity to visit these award winning distilleries for themselves and taste Scottish quality from the source.
